Yet another lesson from the wonderful Warren. I’ve watched over and over again, replicating what Warren plays on my own piano, There are hundreds of gems in just the first ten minutes, some very tasteful licks, turnarounds, voicings and passing chords. Highly recommended!
Another excellent video from Warren and one of the best lessons you’ll find on YouTube about diminished chords.
This is a topic I’m working on myself at the moment, making sure I can nail these minor 2-5-1 in all the keys. This video is very helpful in showing us the most important voicings and why they work.
One of my new discoveries, Warren is our guide on this fantastic exploration of how to use 2-5-1 progression as passing movement to bring us to the IV and vi chord.
Here’s a technique I’ve been working on myself, just experimenting with dominant chord voicings and applying various alterations to see what sounds good. Well, check out this video to get a headstart on sophisticated and jazzy V chords!
Quite possible the most brilliant tutorial on re-harmonization techniques I’ve watched, inter spliced with the usual incredible and inspiring playing.
Wonderful presentation of the 2-5-1 by a talented pianist, great teacher and up-and-coming YouTube star!
Really nice breakdown on how to create some rich and hip-sounding chord voicings using intervals of 5ths.
My latest discovery is the PrettySimpleMusic channel with some wonderful gospel lessons. Here’s an example where the instructor plays through all the 2-5-1 progressions in major and minor keys with some nice voicings. Nothing special there perhaps, but the soulful playing makes this video an essential watch and no doubt this is a very good practice routine.
I love this guy! He has some superb music theory and song writing lessons on his channel. In this video Jake describes how to build chords from the minor scale and demonstrates some popular chord progressions.
